Personal Data Protection Notice

This Notice is provided under Article 10 of the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK") and the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform. It explains how we process the personal data of people who visit the https://adigedenizcilik.com website and who contact us. This English version is provided for convenience; in the event of any discrepancy, the Turkish version prevails.

Personal Data We Process

Only the following personal data is processed through our website:

  • Identity data: Your full name.
  • Contact data: Your e-mail address and, if you provide it, your telephone number.
  • Professional data: The name of your company, if you provide it.
  • Request data: The content of your message sent via the contact form, e-mail or other messages.
  • Transaction security data: Server logs such as your IP address, browser and device information, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Cookie data: Usage data collected through optional analytics and external media cookies, only if you give your explicit consent. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not sell anything or take any payments through the website, so no card or payment data is processed. Please do not share special categories of personal data (such as health, religious or ethnic information) in the contact form.

How We Collect Personal Data

We collect personal data partly by automated and partly by non-automated means through the contact form on our website, e-mails you send us directly, telephone calls and messages you send us on WhatsApp. Transaction security data is recorded automatically by the hosting server when you visit the website. Cookie data is collected through your browser only if you give your consent.

Purposes of Processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Receiving, assessing and responding to your requests, questions and enquiries,
  • Preparing quotations and conducting business communications,
  • Establishing and maintaining business relationships relating to our supply services,
  • Ensuring the security of the website and our information systems, and preventing misuse,
  • Complying with our legal obligations and responding to requests from competent authorities,
  • If you give your explicit consent, analysing website usage statistically and displaying external content such as maps.

Legal Grounds for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal grounds set out in Article 5(2) of the KVKK:

  • Sub-paragraph (c): Processing is necessary for the establishment or performance of a contract, provided that it directly relates to that contract (handling quotation requests and establishing a business relationship).
  • Sub-paragraph (ç): Processing is necessary for the Company to comply with its legal obligations (statutory record-keeping and notification obligations).
  • Sub-paragraph (f): Processing is necessary for the Company's legitimate interests, provided that it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms (responding to enquiries, website security and strictly necessary cookies).

Optional analytics and external media cookies are used only on the basis of your explicit consent under Article 5(1) of the KVKK. You may withdraw your consent at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the website footer.

The "I have read the Personal Data Protection Notice" checkbox on the contact form confirms that you have read this Notice; it is not a declaration of explicit consent.

Transfer of Personal Data

Your personal data may be transferred to the following categories of recipients, limited to the purposes above and in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK:

  • Hosting service provider: Turhost (part of the teamblue group), which provides the server hosting the website and the contact form records.
  • E-mail service provider: The e-mail infrastructure through which contact form notifications and e-mail correspondence are delivered.
  • Competent public authorities: Judicial and administrative authorities, where required by law and limited to the information requested.

If you consent to analytics and external media cookies, the related data is processed by Google LLC and its affiliates (Google Analytics and Google Maps). As the servers of these services may be located outside Türkiye, such transfer takes place only on the basis of your explicit consent within the scope of Article 9 of the KVKK. These services do not run unless you give your consent.

If you contact us via WhatsApp, that communication is subject to the terms of service and privacy policies of WhatsApp and Meta Platforms.

Retention Period

Information submitted through the contact form is forwarded to the Company's e-mail inbox and stored in the website's administration panel. It is kept for as long as necessary to respond to your request and, where applicable, to conduct the business relationship, and in any event for no longer than 2 (two) years, after which it is deleted.

If your request leads to a business relationship, the commercial records and documents created as part of that relationship are retained for the periods required by the applicable legislation. Server logs are kept for the periods required by the hosting provider's security practices and the applicable legislation. Personal data whose retention period has expired is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your Rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you may apply to the Company to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is processed,
  • Request information about the processing if your personal data has been processed,
  • Learn the purpose of the processing and whether your data is used in line with that purpose,
  • Know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom your personal data is transferred,
  • Request the rectification of your personal data if it is incomplete or inaccurate,
  • Request the erasure or destruction of your personal data under the conditions set out in Article 7 of the KVKK,
  • Request that any rectification, erasure or destruction be notified to the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
  • Object to any outcome to your detriment arising from the analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems,
  • Claim compensation for damage suffered as a result of the unlawful processing of your personal data.

How to Apply

You may submit requests concerning your rights in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, using one of the following methods:

  • By a signed written application delivered in person or through a notary public to İstiklal Mah. Mithatpaşa Cad. No: 17 İç Kapı No: 8, Ümraniye / İstanbul,
  • By e-mail to info@adigedenizcilik.com, sent from an e-mail address you have previously provided to the Company and that is registered in our records.

Your application must include your full name; your signature (for written applications); your Turkish ID number (for Turkish citizens) or your nationality and passport or ID number (for foreign nationals); your residential or business address for notifications; your e-mail address and telephone number, if any; and the subject of your request.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible, and within 30 (thirty) days at the latest, free of charge. If the request involves an additional cost, a fee may be charged in accordance with the tariff set by the Personal Data Protection Board.

If your application is rejected, you find our response insufficient, or we do not respond in time, you may file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board under Article 14 of the KVKK.
